Department news | November 30, 2019

Mark Reger, PhD, Chief of Psychology Services at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, attended a three-day White House Lethal Means Suicide Prevention Summit in October to assist in drafting the National Roadmap to Empower Veterans and End the National Tragedy of Suicide (PREVENTS). Roadmap task force members are working to strengthen national suicide prevention efforts in general with a specific focus on the prevention of suicide among our Veterans. The Roadmap includes community integration, a collaboration proposal, a national research strategy and an implementation strategy. Dr. Reger is working with the group responsible for writing the lethal means safety section of the Roadmap, one of six sections of the Report.
