Anna Ratzliff to serve as Vice Chair for Faculty Development

Department news | June 27, 2024

After an internal search last winter, we are thrilled to announce that Anna Ratzliff, MD, PhD, has agreed to serve as our new Vice Chair for Faculty Development. Dr. Ratzliff has been with the department for 19 years – she’s currently the Director of the Integrated Care Training Program and Co-Director of the AIMS Center – and she will add this new role to her portfolio of responsibilities on July 1.

Dr. Ratzliff, who has also served on the School of Medicine Appointment and Promotions Council for the past two years, will support faculty development activities such as faculty onboarding and orientation, mentorship, promotions and support of faculty from backgrounds that are underrepresented in medicine and science. Dr. Ratzliff plans to spend the first six months in this new role hearing from faculty and learning about their priorities. “I’m excited to learn about the unique needs of our different sites and hear about ways I can support broader mentorship throughout the department,” she said. “I’d also like to create more infrastructure such as programs and the use of existing resources so that we can support as many people as possible.”

Dr. Ratzliff encourages you to reach out with your ideas. Our work environment has seen a lot of changes over the past few years – we’re a much larger department now and much of our work has gone virtual – so this is a unique opportunity to shape how this new role can support you and your career.
