Women, femme-aligned people, and sapphic people around the country experience different types of identity-based stigma. Identity-based stigma can be related to personal characteristics like sexual orientation, gender identity, and race. The goal of this study is to understand the impact of identity-based stigma on mental health and recovery from trauma in different parts of the country, with a priority focus on Black women, femme-aligned persons, and sapphic people. We will use this research to advocate for affirming laws and policies.
