Lisa Lawless
Lisa grew up in Hawai’i on the Island of O’ahu and was fortunate to serve in the U.S. Air Force Intelligence Command as a cryptologic linguist. Following her service, she earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington. She’s been with the UW School of Medicine (SoM) for over 18 years and joined the Department in October 2026.
Lisa began her career in 2000 in the Dean’s Office – Office of Faculty Appointments & Finance and later transitioned to the Department of Medicine’s Chair’s Office of Academic Human Resources, 2008-2014. In 2019, she served as the inaugural HR Director for the Outdoors for All Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on enriching the lives of children and adults with disabilities through adaptive outdoor recreation. Lisa later returned to the SoM in 2022 as the Director of Academic Affairs in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Throughout her tenure with the SoM, Lisa has served in a variety of roles supporting an array of staff and faculty affairs and she is looking forward to learning about the many department programs and collaborating with our staff, faculty and leadership teams.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys traveling, camping, trying new restaurants, wine tasting and spending time with her friends.
