Jed Thompson
Jed received a BA in Communications and BA in Theater from Clarke University in 2003. Prior to joining the department, he spent 15 years as the Education/Outreach and Communications Manager for UW’s Cooperative Institute for Climate, Ocean, and Ecosystem Studies (CICOES) where he shared stories about exceptional environmental research and developed a nationally recognized summer internship program for undergraduate students. He also spent 10 years as a performer and educator with Jet City Improv in Seattle.
In addition to managing the department’s day-to-day, internal communication needs, Jed works to increase external awareness of the department and contributes to our strategic planning efforts and fundraising activities. Outside of work, Jed enjoys biking, art, fantasy baseball, and most of all, spending time in the mountains with his wife and two labs.
