University of Washington Substantial Opportunities in Addiction Research (UW-SOAR) Doctoral Readiness Program

This is an up to two-year long post-baccalaureate program for participants that are interested in conducting addiction neuroscience research and attending graduate school but did not have significant research opportunities during their undergraduate studies. Priority will be given to applicants from groups underrepresented in science.

Program participants will receive: opportunity to conduct a research project, comprehensive team mentorship, professional and career development and graduate school application assistance.

Up to two years paid full-time research experience. Health and dental benefits. Participants will also receive funding to attend a research conference.

Hold a bachelor’s degree at the time of entering the program. Complete online application. One letter of recommendation.

Applications for the 2023-2024 program (start date of July 2023) will be available in December 2022.
