The UW Consortium for Global Mental Health, a partnership between our department and the Department of Global Health has been designated a new World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center. This designation will streamline our collaboration and work with WHO and create important opportunities for us to participate in meetings and work on projects in concert with other centers that are designated as WHO Mental, Neurological and Substance Use Disorders (MNS) Collaborating Centers. Lydia Chwastiak, MD, MPH, and Ian Bennett, MD, PhD, are directing the work related to this new designation. The Consortium, formally directed by Pamela Collins, MD, MPH, is being managed by Leah Nguyen, MSW.
