Welcome to our advanced nurse practitioner fellows

Department news | June 27, 2024

This summer, we’re welcoming the second cohort of the Advanced Practice Psychiatric Provider Fellowship Program. The one-year training program provides the new Fellows an opportunity to further develop their clinical expertise in mental health care and serve as psychiatric consultants through the Collaborative Care Model. “We are excited to build and refine upon the success we had in the first year of the program,” said Brendan McDonald, the program’s director. “This year we’ve expanded clinical rotations with a plan to include a wider variety of experiences and more dedicated blocks to become fully immersed in inpatient experiences.” The 2024 Fellows include:

Hannah Dario, PMHNP, BSN, BS, a graduate from the University of Pennsylvania with substantial experience in outpatient and crisis residential care; Bridget Malato, DNP, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, a graduate of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Illinois at Chicago who brings substantial expertise with diverse outpatient and inpatient populations; Madeline Phipps, MS, who received her graduate degree in Psychiatric Mental Health practice from Wilkes University and who has worked in community mental health and in residential treatment programs; and  Anna Rasmussen (soon to be Anna Sears) who is completing her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Seattle University in June 2024. Anna has clinical experience in psycho-oncology, residential treatment for substance use disorders, community mental health, consult liaison psychiatry, and a partial hospitalization program.

Developed in partnership with the School of Nursing, the Advanced Practice Psychiatric Provider Fellowship Program is supported by a grant from Premera Blue Cross and generous philanthropic support from an anonymous donor. It is directed by Brendan McDonald, DNP, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, in partnership with Candy Acosta, MBA (Assistant Director), Anna Ratzliff, MD, PhD, Allison Webel, RN, PhD, FAAN, and Charity Holmes, RN, MSN, MBA.
