As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, the SPIRIT Center recognized World Schizophrenia Day – a day dedicated to raising awareness and fighting stigma around an illness that affects over 20 million people worldwide – by creating a special newsletter featuring interviews with individuals who have lived experience of psychosis, as well as caregivers who support loved ones on their journeys.
These powerful stories highlight resilience, recovery, and the importance of being seen and heard.
A huge shoutout and heartfelt thanks to the seven interviewees who participated in this project. Your courage and willingness to share your stories make a meaningful impact in creating a kinder, less stigmatized world. Your voices are important, and your contributions are invaluable to this project, and far beyond it. Thank you for your time, your honesty, and your strength. This project would not exist without you, and we are endlessly grateful.
Feel free to share this with the families and communities you serve. Let’s continue working together to uplift voices, challenge stigma, and spread hope. See the newsletter
