Residents attend Group Relations Conference

Department news | September 28, 2023

Thanks to an anonymous donor, several of our psychiatry residents were able to attend the A.K. Rice Institute National Group Relations Conference held at Bryn Mawr College in July. This meaningful investment in our residents allowed them to gain a better understanding of factors that influence our choices and behaviors in groups and to deepen their capacity to enter nuanced conversations, all during a residential, in-person event that maximized their opportunity to learn.

Opportunities like this one and the annual retreat are supported by our Residency Wellness Program, a vital component of our Psychiatry Residency Training Program that promotes collegiality, energizes our trainees and enhances emotional health during a stressful time in one’s career. Supported by philanthropy, our Residency Wellness Program allows us to offer residents:

  • Wellness retreats & programming
  • Wellness teaching and instruction
  • Resident bonding within and between classes
  • Opportunities for reflection
  • Welcome events
  • Didactics Day
  • Conference support
  • Support for scholarly projects
