New ECHO program in autism to support primary care providers in WA

Department news | October 31, 2019

The Center on Human Development and Disability is launching a new Project ECHO program in autism to support primary care providers in WA. With the first sessions beginning in December, ECHO Autism Washington will be a recurring telehealth training designed to disseminate evidence-based practices in diagnosis and management of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to primary care providers identified through the existing Health Care Authority Centers of Excellence system. ECHO Autism Washington is a partnership between the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities program at the University of Washington (UW LEND) and the Washington State Legislature. Learning will take place through case presentations and didactics from an interdisciplinary panel of experts with the goal of increasing access to medical services for people across Washington State impacted by ASD.

ECHO Autism Washington joins three other successful ECHO programs offered through our department: The UW Psychiatry and Addictions Case Conference (UW PACC) series, Project ECHO for CBTp and UW Mom’s Access Project ECHO.
