Integrated Care Fellowship welcomes Ramanpreet Toor as new director

Department news | June 30, 2019

We are pleased to announce Ramanpreet Toor, MD, will become the new Director of the Integrated Care Fellowship in July, 2019. Dr. Toor has been intricately involved in the Fellowship since it started in 2015 under the leadership of Anna Ratzliff, MD, PhD, and has consistently demonstrated her abilities as a teacher, mentor and leader. The one-year fellowship is a unique opportunity to learn how to provide integrated care through delivery of consultation to non-mental health settings (such as primary care), provision of telepsychiatry, and leadership to improve systems of care, and includes a combination of clinical experiences, training in integrated care implementation, and integrated care scholarship. The program has trained five fellows to date with two new fellows staring in July: Angela Argyropoulos, MD, and Caitlin Rippey, MD, PhD, both graduates of our Psychiatry Residency Program.

The Integrated Care Fellowship is part of the Integrated Care Training Program (ICTP) directed by Dr. Ratzliff and funded and supported by the Washington State Legislature, including through the Safety-Net Hospital Assessment, working to expand access to mental health services throughout the State of Washington. The training program has made a significant impact on increasing access to effective mental health care for Washington State by teaching psychiatric providers to leverage their expertise through the use of integrated care and telepsychiatry, and by expanding the workforce of behavioral health providers prepared to work as part of an integrated mental health care team in primary care, school-based health or other healthcare settings to allow more patients to receive effective mental health care.
