The UW Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Western State Hospital (WSH) will be collaborating on a plan to create a high quality forensic teaching unit. Funded by the Washington State legislature, this project will include an analysis of risks, barriers, and benefits to implementation of a forensic teaching program as well as an implementation timeline. The program has the potential to strengthen education in forensic mental health for our trainees as well as delivery of clinical forensic services. We are excited to partner with WSH on this important effort.
