CMHIS celebrates first year of mental health implementation support

Department News | November 26, 2025

The Center for Mental Health Implementation Support (CMHIS) helps organizations put effective mental health programs into action, focusing not just on what to implement but how to make it work. Based at UW, the Pacific West Hub is one of five bi-regional hubs offering free technical assistance and resources to help partners overcome barriers and sustain change.

As CMHIS enters its second year, the Pacific West Hub team met to reflect on lessons learned and set priorities for the year ahead. They discussed persistent challenges such as unstable funding, limited staffing, and ongoing strain on workforce and program capacity. These conversations help to refine how they will continue to support organizations and systems across the region.

Co-directors Lydia Chwastiak, MD, MPH and Christina Clayton, LICSW, SUDP would love to connect further with you. To discuss questions, support, or partnership opportunities, email them at pacificwest@cmhisupport.org. Pacific West Hub works with HHS regions 9 and 10, so please share with any of your networks.
