Clinical trials consultation available to department faculty, trainees

Department news | July 5, 2023

Despite the desire of many of our faculty and staff to conduct clinical trials related to brain health, they are difficult to conduct with a lack of specialized expertise being one of the cited barriers for pursuing clinical trials and submitting competitive grants. To address this need, we are piloting a new Clinical Trials Consultation and Technical Assistance Program (C-TAP) to help investigators with clinical research design, implementation and dissemination.

Directed by Mary Hatch, PhD, and supported by research scientist Sharon Garrett, MPH, and project manager Brenda Stuvek, the C-TAP team offers assistance with many elements of research such as protocol development, human subjects applications, recruitment and retention, future funding considerations and more. These services are currently available to department investigators, department trainees applying for or funded by a Trainee Research Award (see above) and Garvey Institute grantees. You can learn more about C-TAP services on their website and can email ctap@uw.edu to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation.
