Addictions & Health Risk Behaviors
Unlocking solutions to alcohol and substance use prevention and treatment.
Addiction to alcohol and prescription and non-prescription drugs robs millions of individuals and their families of their most productive years. We work to create new, more effective treatments and to prevent addiction in the first place. Our addiction research excellence includes college and early drinking problems, clinical treatment trials for substance use disorders, integrated models of addiction and co-occurring mental illnesses, opioid and other medication-assisted addiction treatment, and studies in the neuroscience of addictions. We regularly contribute to state and national issues related to opioid addiction and overdoses.
