The first year of a five-year program to enhance the capacity of community based primary care clinics to identify and treat common perinatal mental disorders (CPMD) within Los Angeles County. The proposed initial 12 month effort focuses on: 1) CME supported webinars addressing common perinatal mental health disorders and risk of perinatal suicide, 2) recruitment/ enrollment of primary care sites for full implementation of the evidence based collaborative care model (CoCM) 3) initialization of pre-adoption activities with 5 of these sites (Cohort 1), 4) accomplishing prep and engagement activities for implementing CoCM for vulnerable women in pregnancy and the year postpartum, and 5) designing a regional learning collaborative to support capacity building and improve perinatal mental health at a population level in the region (to start in the second year of the project).
