HaRRT Center sharing supplies, hugs for Overdose Awareness Day

Department News | September 30, 2025

Members and friends of the Harm Reduction Research and Treatment (HaRRT) Center were present to share harm-reduction supplies, strategies, and hugs at the International Overdose Awareness Day events in Seattle. They set up in City Hall Park for a gathering sponsored by VOCAL-WA on August 28, and again in Occidental Square for the Downtown Emergency Service Center’s event on August 29.

International Overdose Awareness Day is observed each year on August 31. It is the world’s largest annual campaign to end drug overdose and remember those lost to overdose. Overdose affects people from all walks of life, and neighborhood events like these reflect the many voices and communities impacted.
