A new report titled Stolen Generations: A Systemic Violation of Ukraine’s Future highlights the profound psychological trauma experienced by children in Ukraine due to the ongoing war. The report features a forward by Eric Trupin, PhD, who has been working closely with GLOBSEC, a global think-tank that produced the report, and mental health professionals at Save Ukraine. Over the past year, Dr. Trupin has been helping develop and implement therapeutic approaches — including poetry-based interventions — to support young people in processing trauma and rebuilding emotional resilience.
The report centers on GLOBSEC’s findings that nearly 20,000 Ukrainian children have been forcibly removed or displaced by Russian authorities, creating a massive humanitarian and psychological crisis. It underscores the urgent need for coordinated international efforts to locate these children, support their mental health, and reunite them with their families.
