The American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) have collaborated to develop video toolkits for those interested in starting a telepsychiatry practice or wanting to update their knowledge of this field. The brief videos range from four to 12 minutes and are delivered by various experts in the field, from academics to private practice.
The collaboration was supported by a grant from the AACAP Abramson Fundi awarded to the AACAP Telepsychiatry Committee, co-chaired by Kathleen Myers, MD, MPH, MS, DFAACAP, DLFAPA, FATA who is also a member of the APA Telepsychiatry Committee.
The AACAP Toolkit has 18 videos specific to child and adolescent psychiatry, including presentations by six of the faculty from the UW Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry including Cassie Yu, MD; Lee Carlisle MD; Roberto Montenegro, MD, PhD; William French, MD, DFAACAP; Carol Rockhill, MD, PhD, MPH, DFAACAP, and Dr. Myers. The APA Telepsychiatry Toolkit has more general information on the practice of telepsychiatry.
