The SPIRIT Lab aims to improve the lives of people living with psychosis and their families. SPIRIT faculty and staff lead and collaborate on innovative research projects and provide training, consultation, and implementation support for evidence-based practices that enhance the functional recovery of these individuals and families.

Main Challenge

Compared to their peers, people with schizophrenia are at substantially increased risk of unemployment, incarceration, homelessness, social isolation, and premature mortality. Despite the effectiveness of treatments for psychosis, few clinical settings consistently deliver empirically-supported treatments for psychosis.

Our Approach

  • Provide training and consultation to support a broad workforce to deliver evidence-based treatments for psychosis
  • Provide technical assistance to support the sustained implementation of effective treatments for psychosis in community settings
  • Conduct innovative research to develop, adapt and implement interventions that promote recovery
