Joseph Cerimele, MD, MPH

Personal Statement

Dr. Cerimele’s professional interests include primary care psychiatry and health services research, with an emphasis on individuals diagnosed with bipolar disorder.  Dr. Cerimele’s clinical research includes primary care psychiatry in general, the epidemiology and treatment of individuals with bipolar disorder in primary care, and more recently measurement-based care for individuals with bipolar disorder.  Current clinical responsibilities include  consultation and brief-duration care in the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at UWMC. Educational responsibilities include working in the Integrated Care Training Program, co-leading the Integrated Care Writing Group to promote scholarship among junior faculty colleagues, and leading a year-long course in advanced interpretation of the medical literature for resident physicians.  Dr. Cerimele oversees the Department’s Grand Rounds Series. Additionally, Dr. Cerimele is Deputy Editor at the Journal of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and a Fellow of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
