The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute, an independent, multidisciplinary research institute within UW Health Sciences, has many ties with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. A variety of training opportunities exist at the Institute, most of which are related to active research projects. The Institute also serves as a base for many campus-wide projects, and thus provides additional training opportunities.

In addition to research projects that may provide training opportunities, several ADAI researchers serve as mentors for a more formal training program run in conjunction with the UW Department of Psychology.
